Forwarding by type of goods
Freight forwarding and road haulage from across the EU to the Czech Republic – matched to your goods
We bring goods by road from 23 EU member states to the Czech Republic, from a single pallet to a full truckload. The vehicle depends on what you ship: fresh food travels in a refrigerated trailer, tiles in a curtainsider loaded to its weight limit, furniture in a high-volume mega trailer and machinery on a truck with a tail lift or crane loading. As a freight forwarder we source the vehicle from contracted carriers, agree the collection with your supplier and follow the consignment through to delivery.
- Collection countries: 23 EU states
- Goods: food, drinks, building materials, furniture, textiles, parts, machinery
- Load size: from 1 pallet to a full 13.6 m trailer (33 pallets)
- Experience: international forwarding since 2011, 500+ contracted carriers

Where we collect from
We load in 23 EU member states – from neighbouring Germany and Poland through the Benelux ports to the Baltics, Greece and Ireland. Each country has its own page covering what typically ships from there to the Czech Republic, how long a truck takes and what to watch out for (tolls, driving bans, ferries). For all countries side by side, see our EU countries overview.
What do you need to bring in?
Besides the country, the goods themselves make the biggest difference. The most common types have their own pages: which vehicle suits them, how to prepare them for collection, how much fits in a truck and where problems usually arise.
Which vehicle for which goods
The vehicle affects both the price and whether the goods arrive intact. The table shows the most common combinations; we propose the actual vehicle for your consignment. If you buy from several suppliers in one country, we collect from each in turn and bring everything in a single truck.
| Goods | Typical vehicle | Main risk |
|---|---|---|
| fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy | refrigerated trailer (reefer) at a set temperature | broken cold chain, delays |
| wine, beer, drinks | curtainsider; temperature-controlled in summer and winter | heat, frost, missing excise document |
| tiles, slabs, stone, cement | curtainsider loaded by weight | axle overload, chipped edges |
| furniture, mattresses, insulation | mega trailer or high-volume curtainsider | scuffed surfaces, crushed cartons |
| automotive parts, electronics, components | van, rigid truck or groupage | missed production slot |
| paper, timber, steel products | curtainsider; coil-well trailer for steel coils | shifting load, damp |
| textiles and footwear | curtainsider; hanging-garment trailer with rails | damp, creased goods |
| machinery | curtainsider with sliding roof, tail-lift truck | inadequate load securing |
How long goods take from different parts of the EU
The times are for a full truck from collection to delivery in the Czech Republic. Groupage is slower because the vehicle collects and delivers other consignments on the way, and from more remote countries it does not run every day.
- Germany, Austria, Slovakia – same or next day; Poland and Hungary – 1–2 days.
- Benelux, Slovenia, Croatia – 1–2 days; Italy and France – 1–3 days.
- Scandinavia and the Baltics – 2–5 days depending on ferries and distance.
- Romania and Bulgaria – 2–4 days; Spain – 2–4 days.
- Portugal, Greece, Ireland – 3–6 days.

Freight forwarder or haulier?
A haulier carries out the journey with its own truck and driver. A freight forwarder organises that journey: it selects a carrier with the right vehicle, agrees collection and delivery and keeps track of the schedule, ferries and paperwork. We are a forwarder and do not own trucks – we source vehicles from contracted carriers we have worked with for years. You deal with a single partner responsible for organising the whole shipment. More on our About us page.

Customs and paperwork
Goods from EU member states move within the single market, so there is no customs clearance – an invoice and a CMR consignment note are enough. There are three exceptions: territories outside the EU tax or customs area (such as the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla), excise goods (wine, spirits, beer) and routes through non-EU countries, where the goods travel under a transit procedure – mainly from Greece and Bulgaria across the Balkans and from Ireland via Great Britain. We go through such cases with you in advance.
What we need for a quote
- Type of goods – it determines the vehicle, temperature and load securing.
- Collection and delivery places – town or postcode; with several suppliers, every collection point.
- Quantity – number and size of pallets, weight and, if relevant, volume in m³.
- Date – when the goods will be ready at your supplier.
- Special requirements – temperature, tail lift, crane, side loading, dangerous goods (ADR).
Enter the details in the calculator for an instant indicative price. We send a binding quote within 30 minutes during business hours. If you prefer to call, the number is on our Contact page.
